Cabdriver Robbed After Picking Up Fare

A Harford cabdriver was robbed by a customer in Edgewood Wednesday morning, the Harford Sheriff's Office said.

The cabdriver told police he picked up the customer at a convenience store at 1:24 p.m. The customer said he wanted to go to the Chase Manor Motel on Pulaski Highway.

During the trip, the customer put an object against the driver's neck and demanded that he turn over a money bag, police said. The driver handed the man the bag and was then ordered to drive west on Pulaski Highway.

While stopped at a traffic light at Pulaski Highway and Mountain Road, the driver fled from the taxi and ran to a nearby service station for help. The assailant also left the cab.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall, in his early to mid 30s, police said. We was wearing a camouflage jacket and a gray, hooded sweat suit.

MAN ROBS FOTOMAT AT HARFORD MALL

A clerk for theFotomat shop in the Harford Mall parking lot in Bel Air was robbed Monday, town police said.

About 6:30 p.m., the suspect approached the clerk, demanded money and said he had a gun, police said. After getting the money, the man fled.

The suspect was described as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 20 years old, police said. He was wearing gray sweat pants and a gray windbreaker with a hood.

1000 block Carsins Run Road: A television, videocassette player and a revolver, worth $600, were stolen from ahouse on Dec. 5, the sheriff's office said.

3900 block Pulaski Highway: A wheel balancer and photocopier, worth $4,275, were stolen from Specialty Auto Works on Dec. 7, the sheriff's office said.

Bel Air

1600 block Rolling Road: A $50 out-board motor wasstolen on Dec. 7, the sheriff's office said.

1300 block Wabash Drive: A 12-foot fir worth $350 was stolen on Dec. 8, the sheriff's office said.

1200 block Cheshire Lane: A cellular telephone and radardetector, worth $400, were stolen from a vehicle on Dec. 8, the sheriff's office said.

2500 block Conowingo Road: Doors were damaged during a breaking and entering at the Church of Christ on Dec. 4, the sheriff's office said. Nothing was reported stolen. Damage totaled $375.

900 block Sablewood Drive: A 1991 Mazda worth $15,000 was stolen on Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.

Darlington

700 block Arena Road: A chain saw, leaf blower and weed eater, worth $1,550, were stolen from Pro-Curb Inc. Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.

Edgewood

800 block Georges Court: A videocassette player worth $300was stolen from a house on Nov. 29, the sheriff's office said.

6500 block Hawthorne Drive: Cassette tapes, textbooks and china, worth $1,250, were stolen from a house on Monday, the sheriff's office said.

Fallston

2700 block Fallston Road: 135 wood pallets worth $1,350 were stolen from Courtland Hardware on Monday, the sheriff's office said.

Havre de Grace

200 block Wilson Street: A television, cassette player and a package of diapers, worth $635, were stolen from a house on Dec. 4, city police said.

200 block Seneca Street: A videocassette player, television and a power-pack switch, worth $1,660, were stolen from a house on Dec. 8, city police said.

Joppa

Routes 7 and 152: A construction grader worth $10,000 was stolen on Monday, the sheriff's office said.

Perryman

1500 block Railroad Avenue: Jewelry and coins, worth $1,960, were stolen from a house on Dec. 4, the sheriff's office said.
