Edgewood man arrested in fatal Nov. hit-and-run

December 12, 1991

Baltimore County police arrested an Edgewood man early today and charged him with the hit-and-run death of an 84-year-old pedestrian last month in Dundalk.

William D. Harmon Jr., 30, of the 2800 block of Pulaski Highway in Edgewood, was arrested at 4 a.m. at his home. He was charged with manslaughter and failure to stop in the Nov. 24 death of Curtis L. Verdier, of the first block of Vista Mobile Drive in Dundalk.

Police said they also seized Harmon's 1985 Dodge, which showed front-end damage.

Harmon was ordered held on $600,000 bail and was awaiting a bail review hearing later today.

Police said Verdier was crossing Church Road just west of the 7800 block of Wise Ave. at 5:45 p.m. when he was struck by a mid-size vehicle that sustained damage to the left front. He was pronounced dead at 6:33 p.m. at the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore.
