Lauretta E. Walker

December 10, 1991

Lauretta E. Walker, who operated Gorsuch Caterers with her husband for more than 30 years, died Saturday of cancer at her home on Loch Raven Boulevard. She was 60.

A mass of Christian burial is to be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 1512 Druid Hill Ave.

For many years, Mrs. Walker operated a submarine shop at the catering business in the 1500 block of Gorsuch Ave. She became known as Ms. Pudnie to residents of the community. Relatives can not explain the origin of the name, but they say it was used with affection.

Born in Baltimore, the former Lauretta E. Mason had worked as a cook at L'Hirondelle Club, at Bickford's Restaurant and elsewhere before she and her husband went into business themselves.

She is survived by her husband, Eldridge Milton Walker Sr.; a daughter, Gwendolyn Riley; a son, Eldridge Milton Walker Jr.; two brothers, Donald R. Gill and Marcel Williams; and four grandsons. All are of Baltimore.
