Advanced Technology and Research Corp. in Laurel won a $4,923,234 contract from the Defense Department to provide instrument engineering support services.

SFA Inc. in Landover won an $851,810 contract from the Navy tprovide engineering design, fabrication, installation, operational and maintenance services for special research equipment.

Blind Industries and Services in Salisbury won a $593,06contract from the Navy to provide MK 46 kit backpacks.

Digital Equipment Corp. in Lanham won a $423,043 contracfrom the Navy to upgrade computers.

J & D Services Corp. in Beltsville won a $199,800 contract frothe Army to provide miscellaneous repairs.

RADAN Systems in Columbia won a $133,000 contract from thCoast Guard to provide technical support for selected software applications.

Sun Technical Services Inc. in Silver Spring won a $122,97contract from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning removal and installation.

Team/Ace Joint Venture in Baltimore won a $39,495 contracfrom the Air Force to install dishwashers at MacDill AFB, Fla.

Turnbill Enterprises in Baltimore won a $30,740 contract from thNavy to provide shipboard furniture.

Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Annapolis won a $22,19contract from the Navy to provide digital microcircuits, and a $20,085 contract from the Navy to provide cable assemblies.

Defense research contracts

Artep Inc. in Columbia won a $154,811 contract from the Naval Research Laboratory for research and development on modifications of equipment.

Non-defense contracts

AAI/SMI Corp. in Hunt Valley won a $7,186,773 contract from the Department of Commerce to provide an automated surface observing system.

Crouse Construction in Joppa won a $189,980 contract from thDepartment of Veterans Affairs for sanitary force maintenance.

American Pest Management in Takoma Park won a $79,21contract from the National Institutes of Health to provide pest management services.

AT&T in Silver Spring won a $48,912 contract from the U.SProperties and Fiscal Office for California to provide maintenance of AT&T communications equipment.

RAI in Jessup won a $24,159 contract from the EnvironmentaProtection Agency to provide photocopy operator service.
