These are reviews of shareware programs for IBM and compatible computers. With nearly three weeks of shopping-frenzy left, here is a collection of shareware programs that will make your life a bit less frenetic.

Label Magic. With this creative program your labels can be as distinctive as you are. If you can't find a graphic that suits you, simply create your own. Best suited for cards and gifts this time of year, if you decide to register for $25, you'll be able to use Label Magic for your personal stationery or for business. You can preview your labels on your monitor, and you can print them on a variety of dot matrix, laser or DeskJet printers. Look for Version 3.0 or higher on bulletin boards. Label Magic Registration, P.O. Box 1126, Martinsville, Va. 24114.

Sue's Ornament Master. In addition to tracking details about your ornaments, such as when you bought them and how much they're worth, this program will help you maintain your lists for cards, parties and gifts. You're allowed a note for each entry that includes names and addresses for cards. For gifts, you enter the name, gift idea and store where you're going to buy the gift. For the party list, you enter name and address and notes about the individual, such as "hates eggnog." Registration is $12.50 from Joey Robichou, Box 91016-199, Baton Rouge, La. 70801.

EZ-Cards. This well-thought-out program is ideal for managing card lists for the holidays and other lists, such as business contacts, throughout the year. You enter name, company, address, and assign the entry to a particular file, such as "office list." Then you can sort the names, edit them and search for Aunt Millie's address in a flash. Mailing labels and envelopes are easy to print. Registration is $25 from Bob and Kitty Smith, P.O. Box 13717, Detroit, Mich. 48213.

CRISP-A. With this real estate accounting program you can manage up to 100 properties with one bank account. The menu-driven program can generate enough reports to delight any accountant, including reports that show delinquencies. A good companion program for CRISP-A is Tenant File. Tenant File lets you track all the details of your growing real estate empire, print receipts and reveal where your vacancies are. I'll send you copies of both programs for $10. If you continue using CRISP-A, registration costs $55 from James Funsten, 140 Second St., Suite 601, San Francisco, Calif. 94105.

(For copies of these programs, send $4 each, or $12 for all four, plus tax for Californians. Write to Shareware, P.O. Box 7037, Long Beach, Calif. 90807. (310) 595-6870. A catalog on a disk costs $2. Please indicate 5 1/4 - or 3 1/2 -inch disks.)
