Erika Renee Ragland of Columbia was named Towson State University's Outstanding Woman of the Year at its homecoming festivities. Ms. Ragland, a mass communications major, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

Michelle Wong, a student at St. Paul's School for Girls, has been named a Distinguished Scholar Semifinalist for academic excellence and superior creative talent in dance achievement by the Maryland Higher Education Commission of the State Scholarship Administration.

Seton Keough students Cindy Katafiasz, Karen McKenny, Amy Anderson, Whitney May and Diana Rosenberg were recently awarded Certificates of Excellence in a forensics tournament.

The Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists honored six Essex Community college radiography students for their technical exhibits at a recent annual meeting: Pamela McCormack of Dundalk, Rhonda Roof of Kingsville, first place; ,, Suzanne Aaron of Perry Hall and Susan Mislak of South Baltimore, second place; Kim Fitch of Overlea and Eric Himmel ** of Chester, third place.

Lien Tran of Baltimore has been awarded a Computer Sciences Corp. Minority Scholarship to Towson State University.

Nayla Afeiche of Timonium, an international relations major at Goucher College, will spend the spring semester in Paris, studying under the auspices of Columbia University.
