The Baltimore Thunder of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League will play an exhibition on Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. at the Chicago Rosemont Horizon against the Detroit Turbos.
Another exhibition, set for tonight at the Hersheypark Arena, will find the Philadelphia Wings playing the Pittsburgh Bulls at 8. The Wings' top players include John Tucker (Johns Hopkins), Chris Flynn and John Conley (Towson State). Pittsburgh is led by forwards Joe Gold (UMBC), Brian Keith (Navy) and Ron Klausner (Towson State) and goalie Kevin Bilger (Maryland).
The Thunder and Turbos played in the MILL title game last season with Detroit winning, 14-12. Detroit was led by Syracuse's Gait brothers, Gary and Paul, and goalie Ted Sawicki. The Thunder, which opens its regular season Dec. 27 at the Baltimore Arena against the Boston (formerly New England) Blazers, is led by forwards Rick Sowell (Washington College) and Jeff Jackson (Loyola High) and goalie Jeff Gombar.
This will be the Thunder's only preseason game.
