WESTMINSTER — Cherie W. Jenkins, a Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow, was recently elected to the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce board of directors for a three-year term.
She is president of Jenkins Insurance Associates Inc. and vice president of the Carroll County Association of Life Underwriters.
She also volunteers with the Department of Aging's "Senior HealthInsurance Counseling Advocate Program" and the Carroll County Business-Education Partnership.
EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH
WESTMINSTER -- Carroll County General Hospital announced three Employees of the Month for this fall:
* Steve Donaho has been selected as Employee of theMonth for October.
An employee of the hospital for over three years, Donaho works in the Maintenance and Engineering Department. He isa skilled workman and specializes in building renovations such as hanging and finishing drywall and all types of wall covering. Steve played a key role in the recent renovation projects at the hospital.
When not working at CCGH, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter; hunting; and fishing.
* Selected for November was Dottie Watkins, a staffer for nearly 8 years who has worked as an inpatient and outpatient biller, and is currently the accounts payable clerk.
She coordinates and schedules payments to hospital vendors andhandles processing of all invoices and purchase orders.
She was chosen for her ability to effectively and efficiently handle large volumes of documentation. Watkins enjoys spending time with her husband,two sons and new baby daughter who was born at CCGH in August, as well as taking part in her children's sports activities.
* Scott Ryan has been selected as Employee of the Month for December.
Employed at CCGH for 3 1/2 years in the Bio-Med Department, his primary responsibility is repair and preventive maintenance of hospital owned electronic equipment.
His supervisors praised Ryan's dedication and caring attitude toward his job.
Ryan lives in Gamber with his wife and enjoys scuba diving and working on his home. He is a percussionist in the Praise Band at North West Baptist Church where he is also a choir member and youth worker.
VISITOR'S WEEK SET
SYKESVILLE -- The Carroll County Dance Center, 7564 Main St., will have Winter Visitor's Weeks Dec. 9-21.
Regular class demonstrations will be done, aswell as excerpts from the nutcracker and other Christmas pieces. Refreshments will be provided.
