Alfred F.J. Marshello

Alfred F.J. Marshello, 44, head of the psychology department at Essex Community College, died last Thursday at his home in the Winthrop House Condominium.

The family declined to give details of the cause of death.

A mass of Christian burial was offered yesterday at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church in Jersey City, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow in the Lecture Hall of the administration building at Essex Community College.

Dr. Marshello had been a member of the Essex faculty for 15 years.

He headed the department for six years and also taught courses in opera appreciation.

A native of Jersey City, he graduated from St. Peter's College there and earned a master's degree and doctorate at the University of Delaware.

Survivors include a sister, Joan Greene; and two nephews, Michael R. and Kevin A. Greene, all of Edison, N.J.
