18,000 free coats available at 16 city fire stations

Free coats, 18,000 of them, will be given out at 16 fire stations in Baltimore through Saturday.

This WBAL Radio Coats for Kids Project, which collected 3,000 more coats this year than last, is also sponsored by the Dry Cleaners Association of Maryland whose members repaired and cleaned the coats; by the Maryland Air National Guard's Chapter 94, Non-commissioned Officer Graduates Association,which sorted and organized the coats, and by the Baltimore City Fire Department.

Anyone in need may receive a coat, while they last, from any of the following participating stations between 5 and 8 p.m. through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Fire stations are: Engine 23, 15 S. Eutaw St.; Engine 6, 1100 Hillen St.; Engine 27, 4315 Mannasota Ave.; Engine 21, 3724 Roland Ave.; Truck 12, 3901 Liberty Heights; Engine 20, 3130 West North Ave.; Engine 13, 405 McMechen St.; Engine 33, 1749 Gorsuch Ave.; Engine 4, 1201 E. Cold Spring Lane; Engine 14, 1908 Hollins St.; Engine 41, 520 S. Conkling St.; Engine 58, 2425 Annapolis Road; Engine 35, 430 Maude Ave.; Engine 30, 3220 Frederick Ave.; Engine 17, 1426 E. Fort Ave. and Engine 34, 316 S. Caroline St.
