December 01, 1991

Police were searching Friday for two men accused of trying to rape and rob a bartender at knifepoint in a Brooklyn Park tavern.

The victim, whose age was not released, was treated and released from NorthArundel Hospital shortly after the attack, which occurred about 1 a.m. Friday in Dinkum's Bar, in the 5800 block of Ritchie Highway.

Police said one of the men chased the woman behind the bar, threatened her by holding a knife to her throat and tried to remove her clothing.

As the woman resisted, the second suspect opened the cash register and tried to take the money. However, the woman was able to trip an alarm. The two men ran out of the bar before police arrived.
