Kaiser Haider, a University of Baltimore student, recently won a $1,000 award from the Mid-Atlantic Treasury Management Association for his essay "The Effect of the Banking Crisis on Corporate Cash Management." Mr. Haider, a native of Bangladesh, is a Merrick School of Business finance major.

Four Goucher College seniors have been elected to the college's Phi Beta Kappa Chapter: Lois Elliott, Nora Gause, Barbara Karczeski and Rebecca Kline.

Sara Klein, daughter of Dr. Howard and Debbie Klein of Baltimore, has been named a Max Stern Scholar at Yeshiva University in New York City. Miss Klein will participate in an enrichment program for exceptional students.

Michael A. Millemann has been awarded the 1991 Arthur W. Machen Jr. Award, given by the Maryland Legal Services Corp., in recognition of his efforts in representing poor clients. Mr. Millemenn is an associate professor at the University of Maryland School of Law.

Villa Julie College awarded the "Best of Show" award in its recent high school art competition to Jason S. Smith, a student at Calvert Hall College, for his drawing "Clamps." Mr. Smith has been offered a $3,000 scholarship to attend the college.

Robert B. Barnhill Sr., of Barnhill & Associates in Baltimore, has been elected a fellow of the Radio Club of America for his contributions to the art and science of radio communications.

John Roach, chemistry teacher at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, has been selected to receive the American Chemical Society's 1991 High School Chemistry Teacher Award for the state of Maryland.
