Hotel guest shot by intruders

November 29, 1991

Prince George's County police are searching for robbers who forced entry into a hotel room and shot a guest in the face.

The unidentified man was taken to the Prince George's Hospital Center, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

Shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday, police said, a guest at Howard Johnson's on Annapolis Road in Cheverly heard a knock at his hotel room door. When he went to the door, two men forced their way inside and demanded money, police said.

One of the intruders threw the guest on a bed and shot him in the face with a small-caliber handgun, police said.

The intruders fled. It wasn't known if they took any money, police said.

The guest went to the hotel's office and called police.
