Time to listen to sweet sounds of the holidays

The sound of holiday music will fill the air in the weeks to come. Here, in chronological order, is a roundup of many such performances:

The Christmas Quartet will sing at the Towson Town Center, 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, and 7 p.m. Saturday; at the Shops at Kenilworth, noon Friday, and 2 p.m. Dec. 21; at Owings Mills Mall, 9 a.m. Dec. 7 and 14 during the brunch with Santa for which reservations must be made. Call (410) 435-6652.

Security Square Mall will feature area church and school groups at noon tomorrow; noon Sunday; 1 p.m. Dec. 7; noon Dec. 8; 5 p.m. Dec. 10; noon Dec. 14; 1 p.m. Dec. 15 and 22.

White Marsh Mall presents live music on the lower level, Woodies Court, most mornings, afternoons and evenings Saturday through Dec. 22. Local dancers, choirs and musicians will be featured.

Reisterstown Road Plaza is presenting holiday entertainment weekends and selected weekdays in the Plaza's Center Court. Call 358-2275 for details.

St. Charles Chorale will give a Christmas concert, 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Chapel of the Charlestown Retirement Community, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville. Free admission.

Harford Choral Society's annual concert, 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Bel Air United Methodist Church, Linwood Avenue, Bel Air. Call (410) 893-9217.

Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 5300 N. Charles St., a festival of lessons and carols for Advent by the choir of Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church, David Riley, director, 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Christian Temple, Edmondson and Academy roads, Catonsville, community concert of seasonal music for choir, organ and strings, followed by a reception. 5:30 p.m., Sunday.Call (410) 747-2041.

Festival of Carols, non-religious, non-denominational, with six choirs participating: The Alleluias, Christ Church for the Deaf, Douglas Memorial Community Church, Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, the Metropolitan Choir of Boys and Men, Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, Irish Folk Group Tracy's Dream and the Pentagon Brass Quintet, at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, Charles Street at Mount Vernon Place, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday.
