Baltimore City

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5700 block of Rubin Ave. reported that someone broke into a home she owns in the 1100 block of Homestead St. and stole several cabinets and other household items. Police said the property was valued at nearly $1,600 and that entry was gained through a rear kitchen door.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 39-year-old woman and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central District station pending charges that she attempted to leave the Ames Department Store in the 2500 block of Belair Road without paying for items valued at nearly $73.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Constance Waiters, of the 1200 block of Lakeside Ave., reported she was in the 1000 block of E. 33rd St. Monday night when she was accosted by a man wearing a black leather jacket who forced her to give up her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at nearly $40.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said someone broke into a garage in the 3600 block of The Alameda and stole a lawn mower, a bike and a bug light. Police said the property was valued at more than $600 and that entry was gained by removing one of the panels from the garage door.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of Valu Motors in the 4600 block of Harford Road reported that someone entered their garage and stole a 1981 Dodge. Police said the value of the car was not immediately known and that it appeared a key was used to enter.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2200 block of Westfield Ave. reported that someone broke into her home through the rear kitchen door and stole property valued at more than $200.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said a .22-caliber revolver and several rolls of pennies were stolen from a dwelling in the 5600 block of Mayview Ave. after someone used force to enter. Police said the value of the property was not known.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said a burglar entered an apartment in the 1800 block of Karow Court by opening a sliding glass door and stole property valued at more than $100. Police said the break-in occurred Monday afternoon while the occupant was out.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the K mart in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane arrested a 31-year-old man who attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at $30. Police said the man was being held at the Eastern District pending theft charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- James Bolt, of the 5000 block of Conant Way, reported he was walking in the 5200 block of Bowley's Lane when he was stopped by a youth in his mid-teens who pressed a handgun in his back and demanded money. Police said Bolt gave up more than $100 to the teen-ager, who escaped on foot. Bolt told police the youth was around 15 years old and was wearing dark pants and a red hooded sweat shirt.

ROBBERY TRY: Northwestern District -- Liliyania Guseynov, of the 3000 block of Romaric Court, reported she was walking near her home yesterday evening when she was accosted from the rear by a man who attempted to steal her purse. Police said when Guseynov and the man struggled over the purse, the strap broke. Police said Guseynov maintained control of the purse and that the man fled without taking anything.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Sean Harris, of the 3500 block of Calloway Ave., reported he was walking in the alley behind the 3400 block of Edgewood Road yesterday afternoon when he was stopped by three youths in their teens who demanded his money. Police said Harris had no money, but did give the three cigarettes. Police said that during the robbery one of the youths displayed a handgun.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Virgil Martin, of the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave., reported he was robbed of his cash yesterday morning after answering a knock at his front door. Martin told police that when he answered the door around 6 a.m. he was confronted by a man with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said the gunman escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 500 block of Wynoke Ave. reported that someone entered her apartment by forcing open the front door and stole a bedroom set. Police said the break-in occurred more than a week ago and that the property was valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that several hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 1100 block of Ramblewood Road after someone entered with a key. The victim, a 39-year-old man, told police that a set of keys was stolen from him earlier. Police said the burglary occurred over the weekend.
