Neighbors Section Covers New Community

November 26, 1991|By Sue Haller

Welcome Crofton to The Anne Arundel County Sun Neighbors column. My name is Sue Haller, and I'll be covering what's important to you in the Crofton community.

I'm here to get the word out about all of the many things that are happening in our community, and I am counting on everyone in the area to get their information to me. Your organization can reach me at the numbers listed above.

As many of you know, I've been the contact point for the Crofton Athletic Council. I am still that person, and this will give me the perfect opportunity to keep everyone informed. And first on the agenda -- it's not too late to register for basketball and wrestling. You may contact Greg Bujac at 858-1840 for basketball or Frank Mezzullo at 261-3163 for wrestling.

* Everyone must be properly registered to be placed on a team. All county soccer coaches are reminded to collect uniforms from players so that inventory can be taken and theycan be put away for next year's teams.

To turn in uniforms, contact Dave Haller at 261-0196.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church is looking for a few joyful voices to fill its choir. If this sounds interesting, you may contact the church at 721-2332 or choir director/organist Cleon Beittel at 235-6852.

St. Paul's also announces that the Ladies Aid Cookie Exchange will be conducted 7:30 Dec. 17.

Nowis the time to start marking your calendars for all the upcoming holiday events. And one of the most exciting things in Crofton is the lighting of the community Christmas tree.

This will be the first year for the tree that was planted at Town Hall last week. The Crofton Girl Scouts and the Crofton Town Club will be decorating the tree on Dec. 7; it will be lighted the next day.

The Crofton Community Singers and the Crofton Community Church Choir will lead everyone in a sing-a-long as they await the arrival of Santa Claus. Town Hall will beopen afterward for cookies and hot chocolate.
