Baltimore City

THEFT: Northern District -- Frederick Ohrenschall, of the 4300 block of Wickford Road, reported that someone broke into his parked car near his home early yesterday morning and stole an overcoat and an umbrella, together valued at more than $500.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone forced open a door of Kip McFadden's car parked near his home in the 2800 block of Oakley Ave. between Sunday night and yesterday morning and stole stereo equipment valued at nearly $400.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Patrick Johnson, a resident of New York, reported he was walking in the 900 block of Druid Lake Park Drive yesterday afternoon when a man with a handgun robbed him of cash and personal items, all valued at $500.

RAPERAPE: Northern District -- Police today were seeking two men who forced a woman into a vacant nursing home in the 2600 block of Shirley Ave. over the weekend and raped her. The men then choked the woman and robbed her of $300 worth of jewelry. The woman was treated at a hospital.

THEFT: Northern District -- John Boyle, of the 400 block of Somerset Road, told police that a personal computer valued at ** $2,000 was stolen from his car parked near his home.

THEFT: Northern District -- Jessie Akins, of the 600 block of W. University Parkway, told police someone stole a $300 coat Sunday from her car parked near her home after breaking a window.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Rosalind Bell, of the 900 block of Joplea Ave., reported she was in the 3300 block of Greenmount Ave. yesterday evening when two men approached her from the rear and stole her purse. The loss was estimated at $140.

THEFT: Northern District -- Police said property valued at nearly $1,800 was stolen from a car while it was parked in the 1100 block of Falls Hill Drive between Sunday night and yesterday. The victim, Edison Grove, of the 4000 block of Falls Road, told police that the thief broke a window.

THEFT: Northern District -- Melvin Bowers, of the 2800 block of Southview Road, said someone threw a brick through a window of his parked car near his home and stole a lap-top computer and a cassette tape player, together valued at more than $2,000.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Mark Jett, of the 2600 block of Wilkens Ave., was shot in the face with a shotgun during an incident early yesterday morning on Calverton Road near Baltimore Street. Jett was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment.

BREAK-IN: Western District -- Employees of Star Trak Records in the 2200 block of Evergreen Ave. reported that someone broke into their building by forcing a door. Police said it was not known whether any property was taken.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Catrina Carter, of the 2000 block of Boyd St., reported she was in the 300 block of N. Pulaski St. shortly before 2 a.m. yesterday when a male acquaintance robbed her of 20 $5 bills. Police arrested a suspect and were holding him at the station

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2500 block of W. Lanvale St. told police that someone broke into his home between Sunday night and yesterday morning and stole nearly $1,000 worth of property, including a 9mm semiautomatic handgun, a .38-caliber revolver, a VCR and $150.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police said Arvel Jones, of the 800 block of W. Lexington St., was in the 200 block of N. Amity St. yesterday afternoon when he was accidentally shot in the back of the head by a man with a handgun. Jones was taken to an area hospital. Charges were pending against an 18-year-old man.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Wade Blanks, of the 600 block of N. Bruce St, told police he was riding his bike in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. around 6 p.m. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, forced him off the bike and stole it. The 10-speed bike was valued at $400.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Michael Tolson, of the 2100 block of Garrison Blvd., told police he was robbed of $20 in cash by two men who accosted him yesterday morning as he walked in the 500 block of Gold St.

ASSAULTASSAULT: Southwestern District -- Zachary Brown, of the 1000 block of Cooks Lane, reported he was in the 600 block of Dryden Drive around 8 a.m. yesterday when a man attempted to cut him with a knife. Police said Brown fought off the assailant and escaped injury.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Charles Owens, of the 600 block of Linnard St., reported he was in the 3400 block of Edmondson Ave. late Sunday night when a man with a handgun robbed him of more than $100.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A student at the Harford Institute in the 2500 block of Harford Road reported that someone stole her coat and purse yesterday morning while she was attending classes. The victim, a teen-age resident of the 4000 block of the Alameda, told police the property was valued at several hundred dollars.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2900 block of Edison Highway reported that someone broke into his home yesterday through the basement door and stole several firearms, value unknown.
