Linthicum youth burned when gunpowder ignites

November 26, 1991

A Linthicum youth was hospitalized with serious burns yesterday after he lit gunpowder with a match in his kitchen shortly after noon, causing an explosion that blew out apartment windows, damaged a ceiling and started a fire.

Anne Arundel County fire officials said Brian Stuchinski, 13, of the 400 block of Hillview Drive told them he had been playing with the gunpowder, normally used to fill shotgun shells for hunting.
