Outlaw group cited in 12 shootings

November 25, 1991

BOGOTA, Colombia -- An outlaw group known as the Black Hand shot to death 12 people, including indigents, drug addicts and prostitutes, Colombian police said yesterday.

The killings, which took place in the city of Matanza, appeared to be part of the Black Hand's violent campaign to eradicate elements of society that it opposes.
