* Navy Airman Apprentice Aaron S. Bennett, stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS America, homeported in Norfolk, Va., recently completed the NATO maritime exercise North Star '91.
Operating with units from the U.S. 2nd Fleet, as well as Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom, he sailed to the North Atlantic and Norwegian Sea as part of the 10-day multinational exercise, which tested the inter-operability and command and control procedures of NATO's maritime force.

Bennett is the son of Steven J. and Dorothea L. Bennett of Mount Airy. A 1988 graduate of Linganore High School, Frederick County, he joined the Navy in August 1990.
* Navy Seaman Recruit Jason L. Gladhill, son of Jerry L. and Judy I. Gladhill of Keymar, recently completedtraining at Recruit Training Command, San Diego.
During the training cycle, recruits are taught general military subjects to prepare for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 occupational fields.
Studies include seamanship, close-order drill,naval history and first aid.
Gladhill is a 1991 graduate of Walkersville High School in Walkersville, Frederick County.
