November 24, 1991

A 17-year-old Oxon Hill youth was shot and killed and an 18-year-old friend was injured during a dispute Friday evening, Prince George's County police reported yesterday.

Police received a report of a shooting at Glacier Avenue and Quadrant Street in Capitol Heights about 6 p.m. Friday. When they arrived there, they found Damon Ovonna Williams, 17, sitting in the grass, bleeding from a gunshot wound, police said. He died an hour later at Prince George's Hospital Center, police said.

A friend of the victim, an 18-year-old man, was shot in the leg and ran into a nearby liquor store, police said. The teen-ager, whom police would not identify, was taken to Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham.

Police said that the fatal shooting was the result of a dispute, but they offered no other information about the incident.
