November 24, 1991

An 83-year-old Edgewood woman died early yesterday in a two-car collision in Harford County that involved a suspected drunk driver, State Police reported.

The victim, Margaret Willard, of the 1400 block of Willow Oak Road, was a passenger in a 1991 Dodge Monarch that was struck head on shortly after midnight by a 1984 Dodge truck, police said.

The Monarch was traveling north on Route 7, just north of Joppa Road, when the accident occurred, police said.

The driver of the southbound truck, Walter Lively, 49, of the 1100 block of Royston Place in Bel Air, was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Mr. Lively was taken to Fallston General Hospital, where he was listed in satisfactory condition yesterday, a hospital spokesman said.

The driver of the Monarch, Frederick Buettner, 83, of the 1400 block of Willow Oak Road in Edgewood, was not injured in the collision.

Police said the case will be reviewed by the Harford County State's Attorney's Office.
