Deca Students Graduate

WESTMINSTER — A group of Westminster High School marketing students graduated fromthe annual Maryland Distributive/Marketing Education Clubs of America Fall Leadership Academy during a two-day conference in Hagerstown, Washington County.

Students attended workshops designed to encourage participation in the state and national DECA Spring Career Development Conference's competitive events, to promote business and management skills, and to develop the personal relations skills expected of business employees and managers.

Margaret Payne, marketing teacher and program coordinator, and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Kreamer accompanied the 31 students to the conference.

Seniors earning certificates were: Andrew Baker, Shawn Chaillou,Anne Marie Collins, Melinda Davis, Nicole Frazier, Theresa Frisby, Lisa Fist, Kristina Hickey, Michelle Honeycutt, Stephen Kearns, Alana Klages, Suzanna Krebs, Keith Krumrine, Jessica Myers and Jens Rakowski.

Also, Brandy-Lynn Reese, Rob Romney, Robert Ruhlman, Jason Shepard, Wendy Smith, Shawn Lewter, Dirk Staubs, Paul Stephens, and Dustin Wiles.

Juniors earning certificates were: Amy Boundy, Craig Diehlman, Steve Eaton, Charity Miller, Matt Moran, Amy Mullinix and Angela Shipley.

The two-year marketing program at WHS is designed to prepare students for business careers in marketing.
