Nicolas Lazorenko, a retired Sun printer, died Friday at St. Agnes Hospital of a stroke. He was 71 and lived in Catonsville.
Services for Mr. Lazorenko were being held today at the Sterling Ashton funeral establishment, 736 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville.
He was born in the Ukraine on Aug. 20, 1920.
In 1956, Mr. Lazorenko, his wife and two daughters emigrated from Brazil to Baltimore. He worked as a printer briefly at the News American before he was hired by The Sun. He retired in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Anastasia Chodachok; two daughters, Olga Ferris of Catonsville and Maria Cooper of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
