United Way of Central Maryland named Larry Symonds director of Select 50 Accounts. Mr. Symonds is responsible for services and fund-raising at companies whose employees contribute $100,000 or more to United Way.

Sky One Express Airlines named Jennifer Alexis director of marketing for the Baltimore-based charter company.

Goucher College in Baltimore named Dr. Carolyn J. North director of international studies and assistant professor of anthropology.

Valu Food in Baltimore promoted Don Morrison to vice president of operations and Mike Mazziott to senior buyer. The supermarket named Brian Crowley director of produce, floral and salad bar operations.

McCormick & Co., a Sparks-based producer of seasonings, flavorings and specialty foods, named Richard W. Frisch vice president and managing director-Continental Europe for the International Group, Eloise G. Irwin manager of audiovisual communications, and named Edward W. Underriner director of commercialization of new products.

WMAR-TV in Baltimore promoted Mark Distler to general sales manager.
