Rocco rides For All to Laurel victory

LAUREL -- For All edged away in the stretch to post a 1 1/2 -length victory in yesterday's Laurel Race Course feature race.

The 6-year-old gray gelding was maneuvered to the rail down the backstretch by jockey Joe Rocco, then gained a short lead in the final turn. For All then turned back Rolling Cart, Robert's Choice and Dess's Cherokee when Rocco put him to a drive.

Rolling Cart re-rallied along the rail to save second money from Dess's Cherokee, who had launched a belated outside stretch bid.

Starting for the second time in just nine days, For All returned $12 to win after completing the 1 1/8 -mile distance in 1 minute, 50 3/5 seconds.

Rocco, riding Weather Rail, also won the next event on the 10-race card for owner Richard D. Norling and trainer Ronnie Cartwright.
