Baltimore City

BURGLARY: Central District -- Clarice Whelchel of the 900 block of Argyle Ave. told police someone broke into her home and removed a video recorder, cordless phone, tennis shoes and cash. Total loss was put at $575.

THEFT: Central District -- Charles Barroll of the 1500 block of Bolton St. told police someone stole his $300 red, 10-speed mountain bicycle from the 100 block of S. Eutaw St.

THEFT: Central District -- Officials of Chic Apparel Inc. in the first block of N. Howard St. told police a woman attempted to take a pair of suede shorts worth $99.99 from their store without paying. Police said Marie Roland, of the 200 block of Evening Wind Drive, was arrested and charged with theft.

ARMED ROBBERY: Central District -- Christopher White, the owner of Payless Shoes in the 300 block of W. Lexington St., told police someone hit him on the back of the head as he was leaving his store and made off with the day's receipts, a total of $3,847.74.

THEFT: Central District -- Michael L. White of the 800 block of Newington Ave. told police that someone he knows took a $279.95 video recorder from his home.

THEFT: Central District -- William Luttrell of the 3000 block of Autumn Branch Lane told police someone broke into his car in the 1500 block of Maryland Ave. and removed a red and blue jacket worth $120.

ARMED ROBBERY: Central District -- David Hill of the 5900 block Schering Road reported that a man threatened him with a black pistol in the 400 block of W. Lexington St. and stole his wallet.

THEFT: Central District -- Edwin Creef of the 8200 block of Old Philadelphia Road told police someone entered his office in the 800 block of N. Charles St. and removed tools worth $960.

THEFT: Central District -- Officials of the State Highway Administration reported that someone entered their office in the 700 block of N. Calvert St. and removed a computer and monitor worth $4,070.

THEFT: Central District -- Danita Crawley of the 4500 block of the Strand told police someone broke into her car trunk in the 1000 block of Argyle Ave. and removed a Nintendo game system worth about $100.

THEFT: Central District -- David Epstein of the 2500 block of Bolinger Mill Road reported that someone broke into his car in the 1300 block of Eutaw Place and removed sailing equipment valued at $8,680.

THEFT: Central District -- Larry Swanson of the 100 block of Courtland Woods told police someone broke into his jeep by cutting the canvas top while it was parked in the 500 block of St. Paul St. and stole a leather coat worth $600.

ARMED ROBBERY: Central District -- William Lawrence of the 4700 block of Greenspring Ave. said a man hit him with an unknown object in the 400 block of Park Ave. and took $90.

ROBBERY TRY: Southeastern District -- Glen McGraw of the 200 block of Dallas St. told police a man stopped him in the 100 block of N. Eden St. and demanded money. When McGraw refused, the man punched McGraw in the jaw and fled. Police said the victim was not seriously injured.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Derrick Harris of the 2500 block of E. Madison St. reported that someone broke into his locker at school in the 100 block of S. Ellwood Ave. and took a jacket worth $169.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Lucille Hardy of the 100 block of S. Exeter St. told police that someone she knows jumped on her from behind, ripping her pants pocket and stealing $100. The thief fled, police said.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Vic Fante of the 100 block of Heath Road reported that someone broke out the right passenger side window of his car in the 5600 block of O'Donnell St. and removed a black leather billfold, a radar detector, calculator, Cross pen set and men's suit jacket, for a total loss of $390.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Twanda McNeil of the 100 block of Aisquith St. said someone she knows removed $225 from a change purse left on top of a television set in her home.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Officials of ICN Bio-Medical Inc. told police someone used a key to remove two computer printers and other equipment, with a total value of $1,190, from their offices in the 2800 block of Boston St.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Ralph Duvall of the 10300 block of Waverly Woods Drive reported that someone stole a 1988 24-foot Bayliner and trailer from a boat yard in the 2500 block of Boston St. The value was $21,400, Duvall said.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- James Hibler of the 6200 block of EasternAve. said someone broke into his car outside his home and removed cash and checks worth a total of $800.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Officials of Atlantic Construction 7 N. Central Ave. told police that someone forced open a rear window of a truck and took tools worth $300.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 100 block of N. Madeira St. said someone broke into his home through a rear kitchen window and removed a leather jacket worth $350.
