Services for three children who died in a fire in their Northeast Baltimore house early Saturday will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at the St. Ann Church, 528 E. 22nd St.
Ten-year-old Damon Jerry Fairfax, his 5-year-old brother, Jerry Donte Fairfax, and their 2-year-old sister, Cieria Ann Brown, died in the 5:40 a.m. blaze, which is still under investigation.
Damon was a fourth-grade student at Frankford Intermediate School and a member of the school choir. He also played football for a team at the Herring Run Recreation Center.
Jerry, who had turned 5 the day before the fire, was a kindergartner at Moravia Park Primary Center.
Cieria was described by family members as a talkative little girl who had an immense vocabulary.
All three children were membersof the Open Bible Baptist Church, where they attended Bible school and Sunday school.
They are survived by their mother, Denise Eggleston of Baltimore; two sisters, Denise Allen and Stephanie Brown; two brothers, Albert and Jason Brown; their fathers, Jerry Fairfax of Baltimore and Albert Brown of Baltimore; their grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Eggleston of Baltimore, Annabelle Baylor of South Carolina and Pete Fairfax of Baltimore; an aunt, Karen Eggleston of Baltimore; and an uncle, Joseph Eggleston Jr. of Baltimore.
The children's mother expressed her appreciation for all the people who have donated money and clothes to the family after the fire.
