Baltimore Orioles -- Announced that Roy Krasik, the team's director of minor-league administration, is leaving to join the staff of baseball commissioner Fay Vincent.

California Angels -- OF Max Venable filed for free agency.

Minnesota Twins -- P Jack Morris, 2B Al Newman and C Junior Ortiz filed for free agency.

American Association -- Announced Branch Rickey III has been elected president by the league directors.


Chicago Bulls -- Signed F-C Scott Williams.

Cleveland Cavaliers -- Activated G Mark Price, bringing him back from last year's knee surgery a month ahead of schedule. Placed G Jimmy Oliver on the injured list.

Houston Rockets -- Waived G-F Kennard Winchester. Activated F Carl Herrera from the injured list.

Miami Heat -- Signed F Milos Babic.

Philadelphia 76ers -- Activated C Manute Bol from the injured list. Placed F Kenny Payne on the injured list.


Miami -- Announced that Martin Patton and Jonathan Harris have been suspended after a weekend motorcycle accident that led to police to file charges against both of them.

Tulane -- Football coach Greg Davis announced he will resign after the team's game with Louisiana State on Nov. 23.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Announced that CB Ben Smith is out for the season with a torn ligament in his left knee.

Washington Redskins -- Announced that RB Earnest Byner is out of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a mild to moderate knee sprain.


Montreal Canadiens -- Signed D J.J. Daigneault to a two-year contract.

New York Rangers -- Recalled C Corey Millen and D Jeff Bloemberg from Binghamton (AHL).
