Skipjacks review

November 11, 1991|By Nestor Aparicio

* The Jacks showed their offensive prowess in three road games this weekend, scoring 18 goals and earning a pair of wins. Friday night, behind strong goaltending from Jim Hrivnak, the Jacks beat Springfield, 5-3, getting two goals from Craig Duncanson. Saturday, the team traveled to Maine for the first of two with the Mariners, and needed an overtime goal from Simon Wheeldon to earn an 8-7 victory. Eight different players scored for the Jacks. But yesterday the road caught up to the team, as the Mariners' Dave Thomlinson scored three times to lead the hosts to an 8-5 win over Hrivnak and the Jacks. All told, Duncanson had four goals on the trip and John Purves had two. The Jacks return to the Arena Friday and Saturday against New Haven.
