A Mass of Christian burial for Kathleen Decker, assistant vice president of the Diversified Mortgage Corp., will be offered at 11 a.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, 104 Twin Rivers Road in Columbia.

Ms. Decker, who was 31 and lived in Columbia, was killed Monday in an automobile accident near Oakland, where she had been visiting friends.

With the mortgage company in Columbia for about six years, she earlier worked at a Sovran Bank branch there. She also taught courses on mortgages at the Carroll County Community College.

The Johnstown, Pa., native was reared in Middlesex, N.J., and Columbia, and was a graduate of Wilde Lake High School.

Her survivors include two daughters, Robyn Rosencrantz and PTC Lara Kate Bittinger, both of Columbia; a son, Justin Bittinger of Columbia; her mother and stepfather, Carol Decker-Fagan and Jack Fagan of Watchung, N.J.; her father and stepmother, Earl and Joan Decker of San Francisco; four sisters, Annette Decker of Johnstown, Mary Decker of Columbia, Laura Decker of New Windsor, and Siobhan Mellett of Elon College, N.C.; and six brothers, Patrick Mellett of Hillsborough, N.J., Michael Mellett of Hoboken, N.J., John Decker of Columbia, Kevin Mellett of Frederick, Thomas Mellett of Rockville Center, N.Y., and Joseph Decker of Raleigh, N.C.
