PURSUIT/ARREST: Eastern District -- Emmett Dino Gamble, 28, of the 900 block of N. Port St., was arrested shortly after 3

a.m. today and charged with auto theft and multiple traffic violations after a pursuit that began at North Avenue and Barclay Street and ended when the stolen car Gamble was driving struck three other cars in the 700 block of N. Calvert St. Traffic Officer Tony Petralia said the stolen 1987 Cadillac was spotted by Officer Robert Gettier, who pursued it west on North Avenue, south on St. Paul Street to Read Street and then to Guilford Avenue, where it turned onto Madison Street and back to Calvert. At Calvert and Madison, Gamble ran a red light and crashed into a northbound car driven by Irid Naver, of Catonsville. Petralia said the Cadillac then spun out of control and struck a parked car on Madison. He said Gamble jumped out of the car and was caught by police on Lovegrove Street. Meanwhile, the car had drifted several feet while in gear and struck a second parked car. Petralia said the Cadillac was stolen earlier in Virginia and that its license plates were registered to another car. Petralia said Gamble was taken to Church Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. Naver was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where he was held for observation of possible neck and head injuries.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Edmondson Ave. reported that someone broke into his home early Monday by forcing the front door and stole property valued at $1,700. Police said the intruder escaped with $400 in cash and two VCRs.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Melva Johnson, of the 2800 block of Winchester St., reported she was getting out of her car Monday night in the 200 block of N. Schroeder St. when she was assaulted from behind by a man who stole her purse, which contained $16.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police last night arrested a man and charged him with an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Edmondson Ave. and with stealing a car. Police said Timothy Wilson, of the 4000 block of Boarman Ave., was walking in the 1600 block of Edmondson Ave. around 1 a.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man with a semiautomatic handgun who robbed him of more than $200. Later, police arrested a man driving a stolen car and learned that he fit the description of the holdup suspect. Police said after the suspect was taken to the police station and charged with auto theft, he was identified by Wilson as the man who had robbed him. In the stolen car, police found a handgun. They said the suspect, Curtis K. Johnson, 30, of the 700 block of Stanford Road, was held overnight at the station on $30,000 bail pending a bail review hearing today before a District Court judge.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 2400 block of McCulloh St. through a rear bedroom window and stole property valued at more than $1,000. The intruder escaped with a 19-inch TV, stereo receiving and recording equipment, a watch and a toy poodle.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said a radio and a hair clipper were stolen from a house in the 500 block of N. Carrollton Ave. after someone broke in through a rear bedroom window. The property was valued at nearly $160.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at more than $600 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 2100 block of Druid Hill Ave. after someone broke in. Police said hand and power tools, a ladder, extension cords and ceiling tiles were taken.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1000 block of Mosher St. told police that someone broke into her home through a back door and stole a leather skirt valued at more than $60.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Monroe Young, of the 2800 block of Riggs Ave., reported he was walking in the 2100 block of Riggs Ave. around 8 p.m. yesterday when a man with a handgun robbed him of his wallet that contained $35 in cash.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police today were seeking a gunman who stopped Keith Sprees, of the 800 block of Whitmore Ave., as he walked in the 2000 block of W. Pratt St. around 6 p.m. yesterday and robbed him of less than $50.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of L&M Automotive Inc. in the 600 block of E. 25th St. reported that someone broke into the office Sunday night or Monday morning and stole $60 from a secured place. Police said entry was gained by using a tool to pry a metal grate loose from a side window.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that two men wearing ski masks entered the EZ Convenience store in the 5800 block of Hillen Road Sunday night and ordered a clerk to give them money from the cash register. Police said the men also stole two cartons of cigarettes before they ran out the front door. One of the men implied he was armed by keeping one hand in a jacket pocket. Police said the amount of money taken in the robbery was not known.
