Baltimore election today

Today is Election Day in Baltimore. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Voters will choose between Democratic and Republican candidates for mayor, City Council president and comptroller. City council members from each of the city's six council districts will also be chosen. In addition, voters will be able to vote yes or no on 11 bond issues and on one charter amendment.

Your voter's card will tell you where you should go to vote. For information about voting or to report irregularities, call 396-5550.

For election results, WBFF-TV (Channel 45) will extend its hour long "News at Ten" until 11:30 p.m. The station also plans brief cut-ins at 8:30, 9 and (:30 p.m. WMAR-TV (Channel 2) will air brief cut-ins at 10 and 10:30. WBAL-TV(Channel 11) will use updates at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. to provide early returns. WJZ-TV (Channel 13) will add a 9 p.m. cut-in to its regular scheduled news updates at 10 and 10:30 p.m.
