A 17-year-old Edgewood youth has been charged in connection with last Sunday's arson at the Edgewood Super Thrift grocery store, a spokesman for the state Fire Marshal's Office said Friday.
Robert Thomassaid the teen-ager was arrested Wednes
day, charged as a juvenile with arson and released into the custody of his parents.
The fire, which caused about $75,000 worth of damage, occurred at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in a storage area of the grocerystore, Thomas said.
Volunteer firefighters from Joppa, Abingdon and Kingsville had the fire under control in about 20 minutes, said Thomas.
Thomas said the juvenile, an employee at the store, allegedly set the fire at the end of his shift that night.
