Richard W. Keene Jr., 20, award-winning mechanic

Richard W. Keene Jr., 20, an automobile mechanic who won awards as a student of the trade, died Monday at the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore after being injured in an accident Oct. 23 while riding his motorcycle in Salisbury, where he resided.

Services for Mr. Keene were being held today at the Holloway funeral establishment in Salisbury. There also will be a service at noon tomorrow at the McCully funeral establishment, 130 E. Fort Ave., Baltimore.

He is survived by his parents, Barbara and Richard William Keene Sr. of Salisbury; a brother, Nicholas Scott Keene of Baltimore; a sister, Nora Ann Regan of Seattle; and his maternal grandmother, Anna Alefrankis of Baltimore.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore.
