The good news continues for the Maryland basketball program, which was expected to add one of the Washington area's top schoolboy prospects today.
Stacy Robinson, a 6-foot-7 swingman who led Lanham's DuVal High to a state 3A championship last spring, was expected to announce at an afternoon news conference that he will attend Maryland next fall.
Robinson, who has the ability to play inside and outside, is expected to follow his close friend Duane Simpkins, a point guard at Hyattsville's DeMatha High, to College Park.
Simpkins, one of the nation's top point guard prospects, orally committed to Maryland last week.
Robinson attended Simpkins' news conference, fueling speculation that he would commit soon and sign a national letter of intent during the early signing period, which begins Nov. 13.
