Braves-Twins Series beats 'em all

It's your call

October 29, 1991

This past week's World Series between the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins was the best ever played according to those responding to yesterday's "It's Your Call" telephone survey.

The seven-game nailbiter in which the Twins won the finale 1-0 in the 10th inning Sunday night grabbed 48 percent of the 307 votes registered.

The 1975 Series, in which Cincinnati defeated Boston, got 13 percent of the votes, and the 1960 Series, when Bill Mazeroski gave Pittsburgh the championship with a ninth-inning homer off the New York Yankees' Ralph Terry, received 11 percent.

Another 28 percent of those calling said that another one of the other 85 World Series championships was the best.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
