Flaming Emperor reigns at Laurel JTC

LAUREL -- Flaming Emperor, a 5-year-old chestnut gelding, won the $40,000-added Maryland City Handicap at Laurel yesterday by a half-length over Pulverizing.

Flaming Emperor, under Michael Luzzi, ran the 6 furlongs in 1 minute 9 3/5 seconds. Pulverizing finished a neck in front of Smart Alec.
