Boy Shot At Party Critical But Stable

A 17-year-old boy remained in critical but stable condition last night after being shot in the stomach soon after a fight broke out at a Glen Burnie party Saturday night.

The youth, from the 100 block ofSt. James Drive in Glen Burnie, was taken to North Arundel Hospital early yesterday morning after the shooting, which occurred in the 600block of Binsted Road.

Another juvenile was charged with assault with intent to murder and using a handgun in committing a felony, police said.

During theSaturday night party, a fight broke out between a guest and the host, the juvenile son of the property owner. Friends of the two broke upthe fight.

The guest then left the home, rounded up some of his own friends and returned to the home to continue fighting at about 3 a.m. yesterday, police said.

As the group approached, the property owner's son took out a handgun and fired a warning shot at the ground. He then fired another shot, striking the victim in the abdomen.

The injured juvenile was taken to the hospital by his friends.
