"(Rewards) make people with information call who may not have called before," said Sgt. Larry Meusel, of the Benson state police.
Meusel called the investigation by six detectives from the state policeand Havre de Grace police "very active."
Mitchell, owner of the Sportsman's Center, and Hamby, who worked at the shop, were killed shortly before 1 p.m. inside the store at the intersection of Legion andOstego streets.
Police say $150 and at least eight guns are missing from the store. Investigators are taking inventory of the store's stock to determine how many of the missing weapons were stolen, Meusel said.
Investigators also are searching for a gray, late-1970s Chevrolet Camaro that witnesses said they saw near the store at the time of the robbery and killings, Meusel said. The driver of the car wasdescribed as a white man with light-colored hair in his mid-30s.
