Woman Acquitted In Slaying

A county jury has acquitted a woman charged with stabbing her cousinto death last March in their Severna Park home.

The jury deliberated for about an hour Thursday before finding Eileen Francis Somerville not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of 41-year-old Clarence Vincent Somerville.

During a one-day trial in county Circuit Court, the 33-year-old woman testified she stabbed her cousin, who also lived in the house, after she was awakened by a person pulling her pants down. The woman said she did not know it was her cousin she was stabbing.
