Unseld keeps looking for positive signs

BOWIE -- Bullets coach Wes Unseld sat on the stage in the gym at Bowie State yesterday contemplating the just completed six-game road trip. His team went 0-6. He was asked if he had learned anything about his team during those games.

"No, I didn't learn anything I didn't already know or suspect," he said. "I knew we were going to have a tough time rebounding. If we allow teams to pound us, we're going to have a tough time staying with them. We're not physically strong nor are we physically tough.

"And scoring is basically what I suspected. It's going to be very difficult for us to come down in a half-court set and score."

Unseld stopped.

Having said all that, Unseld was asked if there are any positives?

"Yeah!" he said, without hesitation and stopped.

What are they?

Unseld smiled.

"I haven't thought of any yet," he said. "I'm working on it."
