Capitals preview

October 24, 1991|By Nestor Aparicio

* WHEN: Tonight, 10:35.

* WHERE: Pacific Coliseum.

* OUTLOOK: This is a matchup of the two surprise teams in the NHL this season. The Caps (8-1) are looking for the same kind of magic that they found in overcoming a 3-0 first-period deficit to defeat Edmonton, 6-5, last night. They will need it against the upstart Canucks (7-1-1), who for the past three weeks have experienced the same good fortune and strong goaltending (22 goals allowed in nine games). The Caps finish the Western swing of a five-game road trip in Winnipeg Sunday night and stop in Pittsburgh for the final game Tuesday. Goalie Don Beaupre should get his first start of the season against the Penguins.
