October 24, 1991

The Washington Capitals acquired defenseman Shawn Anderson from the Winnipeg Jets for future considerations, Capitals general manager David Poile announced yesterday. Negotiations are under way to sign Anderson, who was playing for Berlin of the German League, to play for the Baltimore Skipjacks.

Anderson has played 144 NHL games in parts of five seasons with the Buffalo Sabres and Quebec Nordiques. He has nine goals and 36 assists. He was traded from the Nordiques to the Jets on Tuesday for right wing Sergei Kharin.
