Atholton senior defensive lineman Brandon Miller, who suffered a jammed neck Friday night during the Raiders' 28-17 victory at Howard High, was released Saturday morning from Howard County General Hospital after X-rays showed no broken vertebrae.
A minute into the second half, Miller went down after tackling Howard running back Kirk Wise following a 2-yard gain. It was Miller's eighth solo tackle of the game.
"It's the best game he's played this year," Atholton coach Don Van Deusen said.
Van Deusen said he expects Miller, who was cleared to play Monday by his family doctor, to start Saturday at Wilde Lake.
