Holiday Inn Robbed By Gunman Monday

An armed man robbed an unspecified amount of cash from the Holiday Inn, in the 7900 block of Washington Boulevard, early Monday, police said.

A night clerk told police that a gunman entered the hotel with a small handgun at 1:30 a.m. and demanded money.

The clerk handed over the cash. The suspect then ordered the clerk to disconnect the receiver on a nearby telephone and give it to him, before he fled.

The robber was described as a black male in his early 20s, 6 feet tall with a thin build. No one was hurt, police said.


An unidentified man robbed a 58-year-old Dorchester County woman outside the Columbia Inn onWincopin Circle early Sunday, police said.

The victim said the man grabbed her purse just after midnight while she was walking from the parking garage.

The purse was recovered the next day in the 10,000 block of Windstream Drive; all the contents of the purse were recovered except $20 in cash.

No injuries were reported.
