Herbert Goldman of Pikesville, a founding partner of Berman, Goldman & Ribakow accountants, died yesterday at the University of Maryland Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 80.
Services were being held today at Chizuk Amuno Congregation, 8100 Stevenson Road, Pikesville.
Born in Baltimore, Mr. Goldman graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1933 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
In 1939, Mr. Goldman became a founding partner in the accounting firm of Berman, Goldman & Ribakow of Baltimore, Washington and Columbia. He continued an association with the firm after he retired 15 years ago.
In 1969, Mr. Goldman was appointed by then-Gov. Marvin Mandel to the state Bank Regulation Board.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, the former Gertrude Kleinman, Mr. Goldman is survived by two children, Allan B. Goldman of Baltimore County and Lee Y. Goldman of Carroll County; a sister, Alma Lipsky of Baltimore County; and four grandchildren.
