Terps lose Arline for 3 to 4 weeks

October 22, 1991|By Mike Preston

Maryland junior starting left guard Kevin Arline will be out three to four weeks after having torn cartilage removed from his knee yesterday. The cartilage was removed after an arthroscope in the morning revealed the damage.

Also yesterday, Maryland officials canceled arthroscopic knee surgery on reserve safety Andre Vaughn (Oakland Mills).

Vaughn will practice on a limited basis this week. He will miss Saturday's homecoming at Byrd Stadium against Duke, but is listed as probable for the following week against North Carolina. Vaughn has a knee sprain.

Starting guard Ron Staffileno (bruised calf) and reserve cornerback and safety Mike Hobson (sprained ankle) are listed as questionable for Saturday's game.
