Mementos stolen from Mutscheller home

October 21, 1991|By From staff reports

It's the hope of Jim Mutscheller and his wife, Pert, that the stolen silver service emblematic of the Baltimore Colts winning the 1959 world championship will be returned. The Mutscheller home in Guilford was robbed over the weekend. Included in the property taken was the title game memento of a tray, sugar bowl and pitcher that was given to the players and suitably engraved.

Mrs. Mutscheller lost other silverware and a necklace that had miniature gold footballs and other symbolic awards won by her husband during the time he played at Beaver (Pa.) High School, Notre Dame and with the Colts. The robbery occurred on Saturday afternoon.

Lieut. Larry Leeson, night shift commander at the Northern District, said Mutscheller had not submitted a list of stolen property to the police, but that one was due this week.
