Doris Larson, formerly a small business consultant for the investment banking firm of Perkins-De Maris, Inc., recently started her own business venture as a small business specialist.

Dodie & Co., located in Annapolis, specializes in business plans, valuations, financing assistance, lease negotiations, general advisement and problem solving and business acquisitions or sales.

In addition to working seven years as an account executive for the Annapolis-based investment banking firm, Larson has an extensive background in management, including 15 years with the United States Senate.


Rochester Institute graduate James P. Hogan has been named the new manufacturing manager at Whitmore Printing in Annapolis.

Hogan will be responsible for monitoring production schedules, managing work flow throughout the printing plant and maintaining quality control.

Hogan has worked in the printing industry since 1983, and was most recently the production manager at W.M. Brown and Sons Inc.,a Richmond, Virginia printing company.


Donna Kogon, director of sales and marketing for Loews L'Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C., will now take on additional responsibilities for Loews Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis.

Prior to joining Loews in 1990, Kogon was regional director of sales and marketing for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Corp., and was national sales manager for Radisson Hotels International from 1983 to 1988.

Previously, Kogon worked at the Henley Park Hotel in Washington, and is a past president of Hotel Sales and Marketing Association of Washington, D.C.


Fred L. Miller, a 22-year Annapolis resident and president of Mary & Associates, Inc. has been named in the Who's Who inLeading American Executives.

Miller, recognized for his accomplishments and contributions as a business leader, will appear in the annual publication along with nearly 7,500 of the most accomplished executives in America.

Mary & Associates is an architectural engineering drafting supplies and blueprinting firm.


The Annapolis office of Metropolitan Life has appointed Dana Sugrue as a field account representative.

Sugrue joined Metlife after completing an intensive four month training program dealing with various phases of insurance and investment products.

Formerly involved in the field of the automotive finance with Koons Ford, Sugrue is familiarwith the local business community. She resides in Crofton.
